From Our Harvest Service, October 2016
Let us bless the Earth,
And all that is steady and firm.
Let us bless the Sky,
And all that is open and filled with light.
Let us bless their union,
Holy and without ceasing.
Let us bless their children,
The bounty of field and forest,
Stones, plants, animals, and all living things.
May the gifts of the Earth and Sky, strengthen, refresh, nourish, and heal the peoples of the Earth. Amen.
(Prayer By Eric Williams. )
Each day, may I be mindful and give thanks to all who make it possible for me to have food to sustain me.
May I select foods in ways that are caring of animals, and that enable sustainable farming – sustainable for the farmers, and for the land. Amen
Unitarian Version of the Serenity Prayer
Spirit of Life grant to me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking the world as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that with courage and commitment
I will make right those things that can be put right,
and accept those things that I cannot change.
Drawing lessons from past joys and concerns,
so that I may address the things I can do this day,
and each day forthwith,
in order to be happy with my life ahead,
and to live in my connection to the Spirit of Life within me.
May I find the courage and persistence to change the things I can, the serenity to accept the past and the wisdom to live this way through the strength of the spirit within me.
May the Road Rise With You.
May the road rise with you,
may the wind be always at your back,
may the sun shine warm upon your face,
may the rain fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of her hand.
